A Moment of Reflection for the Synodal Path

Address of the Holy Father Francis  New Synod Hall  October 9, 2021

Preparatory Document

This document gives wonderful insight and background for a better understanding of the Synod.  Included are references including scripture, outline of the process and reflection questions.

Please read the Preparatory Document before attending a Listening Session.  The hope is that we all take time for reading, prayer and reflection.

The Main Question for Consultation

The Synod poses the following fundamental question:  A synodal Church, in announcing the Gospel, “journeys together.”  How is this “journeying together” happening today in your local Church?  What steps does the Spirit invite us to take in order to grow in our “journeying together”? (PD, 26)

The following themes highlight significant aspects of “lived synodality” (PD, 30). Within the Preparatory Document you will find additional questions with each theme.  Those question can be used as a starting point or helpful guideline.  Your conversation and dialogue do not need to be limited to those questions.

We hope these videos are helpful for clarification and understanding of the Journey ahead.
