Care for Creation Ministry

Pope Leo XIV has officially inaugurated 135 acres of the Castel Gandolfo property, 25 kilometers southeast of Rome, as the Borgo Laudato Si’ ecology project.

The project reflects the vision of Pope Francis, who first opened up the Papal Villa to the public and established the initiative in 2023. Pope Francis aimed to promote ecological education by creating a dedicated space for training and raising awareness about environmental issues.

Word on Fire “Engage” and Flocknote

All parishioners are gifted with access to all of Bishop Robert Barron and Word on Fire’s high-quality videos—for free! You will be receiving engaging videos to your phone and inbox that will answer questions about the faith. You can watch the videos on your own time. Opportunities will also be offered for you to participate in parish discussions, as together, we draw deeper into the faith.

Use Flocknote to sign up. Simply text STAABKLYN to 84576 or online at standrewtheapostle12.flocknote.com. Follow the prompts to enter your email address and cell phone number.

Flocknote is a communications tool that will allow all of us to connect better. There are no sign-up fees and your information stays with the parish. By adding your cellphone number, brief texts can be sent for a variety of reasons – praying for others, the ENGAGE videos, reminders, etc. You will also be able to alert the parish of any needs or happy events. Communicating can help us become a closer parish community who looks forward to seeing each other in person at the Sunday Mass celebrations.

If you already receive emails from the parish, you will automatically receive the “ENGAGE” emails through Flocknote.

Sick or Homebound Parishioners

The beauty and the blessing of the Church is that it is a People not a building.  Each weekend those of us who are able come to Mass to offer our prayers and to receive God’s Word in the Scriptures and the Holy Communion.

If you are sick or homebound, you are still the Church, and you have not been forgotten by your parish community.

Call the Parish House Office at 718-680-1010, tell us of your desire to be visited, and a Eucharistic Minister will contact you and arrange a visit to pray with you, read the Gospel for the week, and bring you the Holy Communion.

Spiritual Communion Prayer

My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.

I love you above all things and I desire to receive you in my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you.

Amen

Amen
