What’s New at St. Andrew’s?

Bible Study with Fr. Kevin Abels

Earth Day – April 22nd

Discussion & Bird Watching Expedition
with Patty Aakre, Audubon educator

9:45am – Kiernan Hall / Owls Head Park
Children are especially welcome

On April 22 at 9:45am we will be gathering in Kiernan Hall with an Audubon educator, Patty Aakre. We will be learning how to identify different species and then head to Owls Head Park for a bird watching expedition.

Everyone in the Parish is welcome but we especially would love the children of the parish to join us (parents too). Public Schools are closed for Spring Break, so it’s a perfect activity to celebrate Earth Day.

Food Pantry

Your donations to the pantry of non-perishable food is truly appreciated.

We are also in need of pasta , hot cereal, coffee, tea, and Jello and salad dressing. Please place your donations in the baskets located in the Gathering Spaces. Checks made payable to St. Andrew’s Food Pantry may be placed in the rectory mail slot or placed in the larger containers inside the door of the church.

The next monthly distribution is on Wednesday, May 15, from 9:45am to 10:45am, in Kiernan Hall. ID is not necessary.

Care for Creation interview on NET TV

Word on Fire “Engage” and Flocknote

All parishioners are gifted with access to all of Bishop Robert Barron and Word on Fire‚Äôs high-quality videos‚ÄĒfor free! You will be receiving engaging videos to your phone and inbox that will answer questions about the faith. You can watch the videos on your own time. Opportunities will also be offered for you to participate in parish discussions, as together, we draw deeper into the faith.¬†

Use Flocknote to sign up. Simply text STAABKLYN to 84576 or online at standrewtheapostle12.flocknote.com. Follow the prompts to enter your email address and cell phone number.

Flocknote is a communications tool that will allow all of us to connect better. There are no sign-up fees and your information stays with the parish. By adding your cellphone number, brief texts can be sent for a variety of reasons Рpraying for others, the ENGAGE videos, reminders, etc. You will also be able to alert the parish of any needs or happy events. Communicating can help us become a closer parish community who looks forward to seeing each other in person at the Sunday Mass celebrations.

If you already receive emails from the parish, you will automatically receive the ‚ÄúENGAGE‚ÄĚ emails through Flocknote.¬†

Care for Creation Ministry

“Consider that God, your Benefactor, is present in all creatures and in yourself. If you look at every step of the visible creation, in all you will meet God.”¬†¬†
St. Ignatius Loyola

St. Andrew’s Care for Creation Ministry, along with other parishioners, has created a Laudato Si’ Action Plan for the parish, outlining actions that we can take over the next seven years to respond to the “cry of the earth” and the “cry of the poor.”¬† Please join us!¬† Contact Tom Hinchen at hinchenthomas@gmail.com.

Spiritual Communion Prayer

My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.

I love you above all things and I desire to receive you in my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you.

Amen

Amen
